I am officially retired! What to do to celebrate? Another translation by Doug Walker of course! This time it is an article from Budo magazine featuring an interview with Nakajima Masanori shihan, and it is all about Shirata Rinjiro 10th Dan. Surprise, suprise, there is content directly relating to internal power and Aiki.
What am I doing next? I’m studying to be a National Academy of Sports Medicine certified personal trainer. And then I’ve already lined up several areas to specialize in as well. Not that that has a lot to do with internal power or Aiki, but I’ve always had a passion for training so why not make that my second career. And in never hurts to keep up on the latest science.
With over 38 years of teaching martial arts nationally, internationally, and virtually, and 36+ years as a public school teache (Much tougher job btw, not to mention more dangerous. I’ve dealt with both knives and guns while teaching, and I taught elementary school!), I think I will be pretty well-prepared to take on personal training after passing the exam. Wish me luck!
I’m excited to post the translated article!
